Capy’s Fluttery Tummy

$6.99

An illustrated story about the worry that arrives long before the thing itself. Capy’s first swim in the big pond is later today, and by breakfast his tummy is full of dragonflies. Mama does not cancel the swim and does not tell him not to worry: they practice first, breathe together, and take one small step at a time.

26 pages, written for ages 3 to 7. Instant download in three editions, plus a free set of printable feelings cards.

What the story does

Worry is a feeling about later. Capy spends the whole morning with it: the what-ifs, the cold paws, the fidgety waiting, the wish to stay on the grass. The story does not rescue him from the swim. Mama gets down to his level, names what he feels, and gives him a plan he can hold: a practice splash at the Practice Puddle, three slow dragonfly breaths at the water’s edge, then the big pond one small step at a time, with her right beside him.

That shape is deliberate. A child who has watched a character feel the flutters and still try has a picture to reach for the next time their own tummy fills with dragonflies, and a short phrase to go with it: Flutter, flutter, I can try.
